COPECO announces more Cold Fronts

The Permanent Contingency Commission (COPECO) will suspend the green alert on six of the departments that have been affected by rain, winds, and low temperatures; but at the same time, they have announced 15 more cold fronts to enter in the next two weeks.

The green alert was given to Olancho, Yoro, Cortes, the Bay Islands, Atlantida and Colon. Meteorology has informed that more rain and low temperatures should be expected until Monday morning in most of the country.

Randolfo Funez, sub-chief of Operations at COPECO informed that the count of damages and victims until yesterday was two missing and one deceased person.

Reports also informed damages in the department of Lempira in the town of Candelaria where 50 homes got damages and another 12 where completely destroyed because of the rains, and the strong winds.

In some other towns Lempira registered damages to infrastructure.

In Pespire, Choluteca, 3 houses that where destroyed where also reported.

There are 500 families affected and 192 people are being sheltered in Progreso, Yoro.
