The American State Department announced in an official notice to the consular section that the price for visa request to enter the United States will increase from 100 to 131 dollars starting on January 1st worldwide.
The increase for the cost of the document is due to changes that the State Department has made changes in its security systems and implemented modern systems of control for visa emissions confirmed the United States consulate.
The changes give as a result that the payment of 100 dollars for the visa request is very low in reference to the increase in its costs and inflation.
It has been determined an increase of 31 dollars worldwide starting January 01 of 2008.
The consular authorities announced that the currency rate Exchange will be reduced to 19 lempira’s for one dollar as of the same date, and the complementary payment of 13 dollars for the obtaining of the PIN stays inalterable.
For the Hondurans who transact a permission to enter the United States this modification represents an increase of 589 lempira’s which means the Visa for the non-immigrants will go from costing 1,900 lempira’s to 2,489 lempira’s plus the 13 dollar for the PIN which is equal to 247 lempira’s.
The increase also applies to solicitors that have already paid for their interview that have already paid the consular rate previously but who have their interview scheduled after January 31, 2008.
This means that at the moment of presenting to the interview they must have a complementary receipt from Banco Atlantida reflecting the additional payment of the 31 dollars.
This increase also modifies the rate for the emigrants and residence visa solicitors, who now will have to pay 20 dollars more than the actual cost which is 380 dollars. The new cost for these types of visa will now be 400 dollars starting on the same date.
