Government contemplates changing schedules

The government determined to freeze the fuel price for the next 15 days, nevertheless the fuel price will increase by 3 lempiras starting on November 18th.

A commission was also formed to elaborate a plan of fuel and electrical energy savings, headed by the minister of Defense, the secretary of Natural Resources (SERNA), and the Petroleum Administration Commission (CAP).

This plan pretends to save 100 megawatts in one year. Another commission will be in charge of revising the proposals from the public transportation companies, regarding the demands for increasing the tariff of the public transportation.

To maintain the fuel price stable, the government will use the amount of 95 million to subside the fuel price that will take place from November 4th to the 18th.
The government is trusting National Congress to approve an executive decree where 300 million lempiras are requested in order to continue subsidizing fuels in what’s left of this year, the price for fuel on the international market closed yesterday at 93.98 dollars.

Change in Work Hours
In two days a detailed program will be released that includes the change of work hours for companies that work for the government so that the traffic during rush hours are not congested.
