Copeco has declared “Green Alert” on the departments of Colon, Atlántida, Bay Islands and Gracias a Dios for the next 48 hours, they have also suspended the yellow alert from the departments of Cortes and Yoro due to the last analysis of the National Weather Service wich indicate that the cold front has lost power and a notable improvement in the climatic conditions is observed on the coast.
According to informs, the cold front is moving itself quickly toward the west of Honduras, the rains have decreased considerably on the Caribbean coast, specifically in the departments mentioned previously where the maximum accumulated can reach anywhere between 40 and 50 millimeters in the next 48 hours.

Due to the premature arrival of the first cold front of the season on national territory coming in from the Gulf of Honduras today, the Permanent Contingency Commission (COPECO) declared yellow alert in Colon, Atlántida, Bay Islands, Cortés and Yoro.
According to the weather reports the cold front will leave rains of around 150 millimeters in 48 hours and this can worsen due to the extreme humidity saturation on the grounds.
This cold front will be generating sea-swell increase three feet above normal, winds up to 30 and 40 kilometers per hour and temperatures that will descend to 10 degrees, especially in the mountains.

The Special Olympics organization in Honduras are speeding up the construction of their own administrative building to improve the programs for disabled people.
The offices will be located at the Jose Simon Azcona sports complex. The building will have a multi purpose area, waiting room, office, a swimming pool for therapy.
The organization’s funds are part of the Poverty Reduction program that is managed with government funds.
The construction of this new building is advancing rapidly and is scheduled to be ready by the end of November.
The Special Olympics sports training and athletics competion is the biggest program around the world for adults and children with disabilities.
Here in Honduras we work with swimming, athletism, hockey, soccer, gymnastics, tennis, table tennis and other sports.

Honduran President Manuel Zelaya used a speech about press freedom at the Inter American Press Association’s (IAPA) annual meeting Monday to blast his nation’s news media as biased towards its other business interests — touching off a barely polite shouting match with several questioners.
Clearly, some in the group attending the luncheon for Zelaya were angry at the president even before he made his remarks, because he had just returned from a friendly visit with Fidel Castro. And IAPA, in a report to be formally released Tuesday, has condemned Zelaya for making “threats” to “intimidate” news organizations.
