Breast Cancer in women constitutes the second cause of death in our country, reason why it is expected a report of over 2 thousand new cases annually.
October has been declared as the International Fight against Cancer month and on this note the National Congress decreed October 25th as the “Day against breast cancer in Honduras”.
It is important for women to do a self breast exam once a month in order to become familiar with the form and consistency of them. This examination will allow you to notice if there are any changes from one month to another.
The self exam can help women detect any abnormalities such as a benign tumor (cysts), fibrosis or early cancer detection.
It is recommended for women to do these self test three days after their period when the breast aren’t sensitive. Women who no longer menstruate should choose a day of the month to do the test.
