Breast Cancer in women constitutes the second cause of death in our country, reason why it is expected a report of over 2 thousand new cases annually.
October has been declared as the International Fight against Cancer month and on this note the National Congress decreed October 25th as the “Day against breast cancer in Honduras”.
It is important for women to do a self breast exam once a month in order to become familiar with the form and consistency of them. This examination will allow you to notice if there are any changes from one month to another.

With an investment of more than 7 million lempiras Honduras first lady, Xiomara Castro de Zelaya inaugurated the Integral Attention Center (CAI), at the Mario Catarino Rivas Hospital where patients with HIV/AIDS will receive treatment.
This new two story building will allow for over 2000 patients to be attended of which 1650 are adults and the rest are children.
Honduras first lady stated that her inclination to support this cause is because she has known a lot of women who suffer discrimination where they have been dismissed from their jobs and because this epidemic has been affecting women mostly homes are being disintegrated and leaving a lot of orphan kids.

A man facing federal prison for repeatedly entering the country after being deported, pointed to his five children seated behind him in U.S. District Court in Harrisonburg on Tuesday, then started crying.
“I have returned to this country to [continue] to feed my family,” Reynaldo Evelio Guillen Lobo said, speaking through an interpreter. “Everything I have done, I have done for them.”
Guillen Lobo, 35, of Honduras, pleaded guilty in May to a felony count of illegally re-entering the United States after deportation. He returned to court Tuesday for sentencing.
According to court testimony, Guillen Lobo has illegally entered the United States five times, four times after having been deported.

Two gunmen have killed a popular Honduran radio journalist known for his satirical broadcasts and social commentary.
Carlos Salgado was shot multiple times Thursday as he was leaving Radio Cadena Voices, the station where he worked in the Honduran capital, Tegucigalpa.
Salgado hosted a comical radio show, “Bean the Terrible,” that touched on politics and social themes and which often criticized the social situation in Honduras.
Authorities are searching for the people suspected of carrying out the shooting.
Salgado’s murder comes at a time when Honduran President Manual Zelaya is at odds with the local media, which have been questioning the actions of his government.
