The Honduran Association of Prosecutors (AFH) denounced Attorney General Leonidas Rosa Bautista for obstructing prosecution of many cases of corruption in the country.
We are confronting a person who has used time to protect his friends, people who belong to the same system he does, and from which system he came to occupy his post, asserted AFH President Jari Dixon.
Presenting an evaluation in the name of AFH, Dixon stressed that Rosa Bautista is not committed with the struggle against corruption in this Central American nation.
He pointed out that a list of accusations was made one year ago, but fiscal prosecutions have not been carried out due to the intervention of high-rank authorities from Public Ministry and those that are still current are being mishandled.
The National Anti-Corruption Council research recently warned that Honduras is on the brink of a serious crisis due to the high levels of corruption, losing 530 million dollars a year, making this one of the most corrupt countries in Latin America.
