DBOT Terminal to be Built in Trujillo

TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras

The Ministry of the Presidency of the Government of Honduras, Central America, plans to tender a Design, Build, Operate and Transfer (DBOT) Terminal for the country’s requirements of imported refined petroleum products. The new terminal is to be located at Puerto Castilla, Bay of Trujillo, Department of Colon, on the Atlantic side of the nation.

Tender documents are expected to be made available within the next 30 to 60 days to all qualified interested parties.

The products to be received, stored and then dispatched from the new terminal include all unleaded motor gasoline fuels, kerosene/jet fuel, diesel, and fuel oils. Exact specifications and expected quantities will be made available at the time of the solicitation.

The solicitation will include a Design Basis Memorandum, an Operating Philosophy Memorandum, a Draft DBOT Agreement, and reference to all appropriate API, ASTM and other industry standards and practices.

Implementation of the tender process for the Government of Honduras is being administered by Suroil, Inc., of Coral Gables, FL. The Managing Director of Suroil, Mr. Robert Meyeringh, has indicated that any parties interested in being added to the existing list of potential suppliers should contact Mr. Gerardo Pelen, Technical Manager of Suroil in Honduras.
